  • Currently planning a town hall / meet-n-greet at a retail store for parents, teachers, and school administrators.
  • An informative email was sent to local schools in the City of Auburn, Opelika, and surrounding towns, directed to music educators, principals, and the Board of Education. We gave a description of what was accomplished in D.C., ESSA, and possible action steps we would like to see our community make to further music education under the new bill.
  • In celebration of Make Music Day, we attempted to break a world record in downtown Auburn, Alabama. With well over 1,000 people in attendance consisting of Auburn's mayor, City of Auburn employees, city and university music educators, musicians of all ages, music lovers, and parents, we used this as a platform to inform attendees of ESSA. We informed the crowd of possible 'next steps' that could be taken to continue to spread the message of the importance of music education across the state.
  • Have talked with local county schools that do not have music educators and offered to come teach a complimentary intro to music class for their students.
