Don Morris is the founder and product engineer behind Electroplex Amplifiers, which includes their famous Rocket series. In 1993, Don sat down with Trev Wilkinson to design a new amplifier and the result was the Rocket 90! Don’s long and very interesting history in the music industry goes back to the early 1970s when he worked for MXR Innovations in Rochester, New York on several of their guitar effects pedals and pro audio gear. Later he did technical marketing and writing for Hoshino USA, Inc. and then spent nearly 23 years with Yamaha. Falling in love with the power of the electric guitar, thanks in large part to seeing Jimi Hendrix live four times, Don sought to create an amp with power and distinct sounds. Today the Rocket series includes several models including the classic 90, 50, 42, 35, and the Rocket 22.
