Garry Hyde
Garry Hyde opened a small music store under his parent’s house back in 1962. Having a very famous musician as a father, he asked to use his dad's name for the store. Billy Hyde was a noted drummer who gained great popularity on a late-night TV program in Australia during the late 1960s and 70s. Billy was also a well-respected session player who gave great credibility to his son's music store. That store soon grew and expanded into several other locations and into a wholesale division that later took on the name Music Link. Garry, himself a professional drummer, sold the business in 2007, which continues to have a strong legacy within the Australian music industry.
