This audio only interview was conducted for a radio program by Dan Del Fiorentino and donated to the NAMM Oral History program: Harry Sargent was a jazz drummer based out of Memphis, Tennessee. His father, Kenny Sargent (1906-1969), was a famous singer during the Big Band Era. Kenny scored several hits while singing with Glen Gray and the Casa Loma Orchestra including "Under a Blanket Of Blue" and "For You." Harry recounted his father's history along with his own career as a jazz drummer and percussionist. Harry was a pilot during World War II and the Korean War, which, along with his last name, resulted in his lifelong nickname "Sarge."
