Phil Ramone
This audio only interview was conducted by David Schwartz and donated to the NAMM Oral History program: Phil Ramone was an audio legend! His success as a studio owner and producer helped guide the careers of many in our industry and his influence as an engineer helped define his era. Phil and Jack Arnold established A&R Recording Studio in New York back in 1958. The studio produced a string of popular and historic recordings. Phil went on to form several more studios over his long and iconic career, which included 14 Grammy Awards and the 2005 Technical Grammy for his innovative contributions to the recording industry.
