Tammie Harper was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi and like so many people in the town she was interested in music, so she joined the Peavey Electronics team. Her first job for the company was working the old telex machines. She was thrilled when word processing and computer upgrades replaced the old machines. Tammie later worked in the mail room and sent out the Peavey Papers newsletter and t-shirts for four years, which really gave her an insight into the role Peavey played within the industry and its importance with their dealers. After a stint in customer service, she spent 13 years in the Artist Relations department, giving her the chance to attend the NAMM show and arrange the top name performers who signed autographs in their booth. It was during that time that she helped with the Rock Across America program before finding her next role in the company, in the credit department. Tammie expressed that one of the main reasons she enjoys her job is the family feeling among employees, both those new to the company and those, like Tammie, who grew up in it.
